is located in Gechingen, the birthplace of our founders. Dürr Optronik has been producing innovative and intuitive imaging systems for the dental industry for more than 50 years. 45 years ago DÜRR DENTAL Austria was founded. Last year, the groundbreaking ceremony for a new large building of the branch office in Zirl, Tyrol, took place. When Frida Dürr brought home a broken drill from her dentist in 1946, her husband Wilhelm managed to repair the dental instrument. Thus, the Dürr brothers stumbled upon a market niche in the post-war period rather by chance.

One of the founding fathers is Karl Dürr: born in 1905 and raised in the region of Swabia, where many inventions were made. He had the reputation of being a man of action. At 5 o'clock in the morning, he heated the workshop with his own hands, where he could be found on a regular basis.

At the end of 2006 the groundbreaking ceremony was held by the then managing directors Walter Dürr and Martin Dürrstein. The DÜRR DENTAL subsidiary DÜRR NDT contributes significantly to the safety of space programs such as those of ESA and NASA. For example, the HD-CR 35 NDT imaging plate scanner from DÜRR NDT is used for X-ray inspection of welds, from the outer shell to fuel lines. Founded in 2006, DÜRR NDT has its headquarters just a few meters away from DÜRR DENTAL SE and has established itself as one of the market leaders in imaging inspection within a short period of time. Until today one of the most important topics in the dental practice: suction. Thanks to the development of the first suction system DÜRR DENTAL made it possible for dentists to treat their patients in a lying position. Today, a powerful suction system plays an important role, especially with regard to infection protection, as it has been proven to prevent the risk of aerosol spread. Until today one of the best known DÜRR DENTAL products: The Orotol. This cleaning and care product has been available since 1965 and was developed especially for the suction system.

The compressed air required in the dental practice must be dry, oil-free and hygienic. This requires a special / relatively complex compressor-technology, without which this would not be possible. It is therefore not without reason that the compressor is known as the "oil-free" heart of the practice.
